Jennifer Streit-Spears, 43, was found dead at her home in Plano, Texas, with suspect Kenneth Alan Amyx in the same flat with multiple self-inflicted stab wounds.
Disturbing photos of Streit-Spears’ body, as well as a photo of 45-year-old Amyx covered in blood, were posted on her Facebook page with the caption: ‘Please pray for us.’
Streit-Spears’ sister called the police after seeing the post. She also tried to get them removed from Facebook, but was told they didn’t violate the site’s terms.
‘I did ask [Facebook] to remove it several times,’ she told the Daily Dot. ‘They told me I could block Jennifer if I didn’t like what she posted, and gave me other similar options.’
However, they have now been removed and Streit-Spears’ profile turned into a memorial page.
Amyx has been charged with murder. After his arrest, officers discovered he was wanted in two counties nearby for separate child sex offences.
