The famous Mountain of Fire Church has just barred women wearing trousers from coming and/or passing through their church premises.
According to Punch, women in trousers will not be granted entrance into The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Camp ground at Magboro, Lagos-Ibandan Expressway, Ogun State.
Security Head of the church, Mr. Lanre, told the newspaper that the road in question was not an access route for the public, adding thatsecurity challenges informed the barricade.
"The so-called access road is illegal. It is part of the church property. If we decided to block it, I don’t think that is business of anybody. Can you claim what does not belong to you? They (communities) even went ahead to stage an informal protest. Attacks on public places in the country have made it mandatory for organizations to beef up their security."
As for the women in trousers ban, Mr. Lanrerevealed that the dress was contradictory with the doctrine of the church, adding that, "Such women will be barred from taking the road on the camp that links to the expressway."
Well, its one thing to wear trousers to your church but what's wrong with wearing trousers and passing through a church’ premises to somewhere else? What's wrong with women wearing (loose) trousers to church?
