Despite having to put one on almost every day, the chances are that we’re putting our bras on wrong.
Now, we know what you’re thinking; since when is there a right way to put on a bra? We could all do with being a bit more clued up about our underwear and the effect it can have on our health.
We all should be employing the “scoop and swoop” method when getting dressed in the mornings. The basic method is as follows:
1. Loosen the straps before you put on the bra.
2. Place the bra on the right hook — this should start on the loosest and move up the older the bra gets.
3. Tighten the straps.
4. Scoop up each breast by placing your hands inside the cups and lifting up and out.
The idea with this method is that the underwire sits properly at the bottom base of the breast, giving it the support and shape that is required. If the breasts are placed incorrectly in the cups of the bra, it won’t be able to do its job and could even mean they are pushed downwards and compressed.
