Autistic man jailed for one year over failed attempt to assassinate Donald Trump

The British man who grabbed a police officer’s gun in a failed attempt to assassinate Donald Trump has been jailed for a year .

Michael Sandford appeared in court where he admitted grabbing the firearm intending to shoot the Republican Presidential nominee while attending a rally on June 18 at Treasure Island hotel-casino in Las Vegas.After pleading guilty in a deal with US prosecutors the 20-year-old told the court in tears




“I'm really sorry to you and the court for taking up so much if your time.",the Huffington Post reports.

He had faced up to 20 years in prison if he had been convicted at trial on US federal charges of an illegal alien in possession of a firearm and disrupting an official function.
