Workers Not Happy As Ngige Represents Buhari During Workers Day, Keeps Mum On New Minimum Wage Proposal

Officials of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, have expressed disappointment at the failure of the President to personally attend the annual May Day rally which would have given him the opportunity to address some of the issues raised by the workers in a letter submitted to him recently.

The Minister of Labour and Employment Dr. Chris Ngige had represented the President yesterday at the May Day rally in Abuja and kept mum on the new minimum wage (N56,000) requested by the workers throughout the Federation.

They pointed out that it is one of the reasons they are not happy the president did not attend because they would have pointed that out to him.
