A woman and six children have burnt to death in a night inferno that occurred at No. 33 Ntia Street, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The fire was noticed at about 2am by one of the victims a woman who came out to urinate and raised alarm.
The police and fire fighters reportedly came to the scene hours after the incident occurred and could do nothing to stop it.
The state director of fire service, Ukpe Ndarake said that investigation is ongoing to ascertain the course of the disaster.
The commander who said he saw four corpses in the wreckage expressed sympathy with the family and relations of the victims of the incident
