Speaking to NAN on Wednesday, April 14, 2016 the veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko Yoruba actor described the industry as a “multi-million naira industry with huge prospects."
Jide Kosoko, has urged Nigerian government to monitor the funds disbursed to Nigeria’s movie industry to ensure judicious usage.
“The industry is capable of generating millions of naira in revenue if well-funded,” he told NAN on Wednesday.
“The industry has lots of prospects and potential that can be used to boost its revenue. The opportunities in the industry can fetch government huge revenues.”
Urging the federal government to continue supporting the industry, he noted that the movie industry could generate huge revenue if properly funded and monitored by government, corporate bodies and spirited individuals.
He promised to continue supporting the industry to produce quality movies to move the Nollywood industry forward.
The 62-year old actor also implored well-meaning fans and supporters of the movie industry to show support to the film industry in the fight against piracy.
