Man arraigned in court in Ado-Ekiti for slapping his girlfriend

23-year-old Olaiya Oluwaseyi, was today Tuesday April 19th arraigned in an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court for allegedly slapping his girlfriend, a lady named Kehinde Igiebor, according to a Vanguard report. The court heard that the incident happened on April 15th at Omisanjana Street, Ado-Ekiti.

The prosecutor said Olaiya slapped the lady because she refused to pick his calls and thereafter proceeded to beat her mercilessly after finding out she was seeing someone else.

The prosecutor said that the offence was contrary to the Criminal Code, Cap C 16, Laws of Ekiti State 2012.

Olaiya pleaded not guilty to the charge and his lawyer asked the court to grant him bail. He was granted bail in the sum of N50,000 and two sureties in like sum. The judge adjourned the case to April 28th for further hearing.
