According to twitter user @guillfish, his dad bought his mom/wife $800+ Hermes sandals as a gift.. But stated it was in celebration of six different events in advance, ranging from Mother's Day to Valentine, Christmas and even her Birthday. In other words, she better not expect gifts then. Lol.
