NFF biggest mistake was Oliseh appointment – Baraje

Since the resignation of former coach Sunday Oliseh as Super Eagles coach, Nigerians have been divided over the suitability or otherwise of his appointment.
Some Nigerians expressed misgivings that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) erred in the appointment of the former Borrusia Dortmund of Germany defensive midfielder going by his little or no experience in the management of a national team like Nigeria’s.
Coach of Plateau United Football Club of Jos, Zachary Baraje, in an interview, explained that the Super Eagles job was too much for Oliseh.

Baraje said NFF was not decisive in the appointment of Oliseh as Nigeria’s manager.
“His appointment was not good in the first place. Oliseh is inexperienced and was not the right man for the job. The question is that why was he considered to coach to coach Eagles in the first place? I think his appointment was a huge joke from the NFF. You can see the result,” he pointed out, adding that
“Oliseh demonstrated temperament and showed that he cannot handle the pressure that comes with managing a big national team like the Super Eagles.”
Baraje also said the solution to the current leadership issue in the senior national team was for the football house to go for an expatriate coach, even if it would be on an interim basis.
