Journalists at the briefing where Ese was presented to the media were barred from taking photos of the teenager.

Ese was abducted in August 2015, and has been away from her parents for over 6 months. She was released today, March 1, to men of the zone 1 police command in Kano before she was taken to Abuja.
Meanwhile, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Yunusa, the man alleged to have abducted Ese from  her Bayelsa home and took her to Kano for underage marriage.
