Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas admits it would be “very difficult” to ever play for Barcelona again.
The 28-year-old burst on to the scene at Arsenal as a teenager, spending eight years in London before signing for Barca in 2011.
However, after three years back at in Catalonia, he returned to London, albeit this time to link up with Jose Mourinho at Chelsea.
At the time it was suggested he would have liked to have re-joined for Arsenal, but that Arsene Wenger felt there wasn’t room for him in the side.
Asked by Spain international team-mate Gerard Pique on Persicope if he could still one day return to Camp Nou, though, Fabregas replied: “Difficult, very difficult.”
He also admitted he “misses” Barcelona, but joked that he isn’t so sure the feeling is reciprocated – since he’s left the club they’ve won five trophies out of six and are on course for a second successive treble.
After winning the Premier League title with Chelsea in his first season at Stamford Bridge, Farbegas’ second season has seen the Blues struggle in all competitions.
And with the title out of the picture, he tipped Leicester City to hold off the challenges of Tottenham and Arsenal to win England’s top flight.
“There are still plenty of points to play for, but, for me, they are the big favourites now,” he added.
“Tottenham and Arsenal would have to win all their games [to challenge them].”
