Dolly Parton Is Ready to Show Off Her Husband of 50 Years

Dolly Parton is ready to say “I do” again. The music icon and her husband Carl Dean will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in May and plan to mark the occasion by renewing their vows. The Insider With Yahoo caught up with the 70-year-old as she gears up for her “Pure and Simple” North American tour and got the scoop on the big wedding day with the man few fans have ever seen.

“My dress is going to be beautiful,” Dolly said. “It’s in the works now. We’re not buying it. I think we’re just going to fix it.” The singer was just 20 years old when she walked down the aisle.

Today, the couple is stronger than ever. “I got my husband a really nice suit so we’re going to do some really nice pictures so people get to see who he really is after all this time. He’s been said to be everybody from the bus driver to the gardener to my gay hairdresser,” Dolly teased. “Finally we’re going to get to see the real Carl Dean.”
