Governor Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi State has signed into law the 2016 appropriation bill of over N135 billion tagged “The Budget of Revival”.
The governor said the budget was formulated in line with the manifesto of the governing All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state.
According to a statement on Sunday by his spokesperson, Abubakar Al-sadique, ” the N135, 303, 100, 010 budget in the 2016 fiscal year, is made up of capital expenditure taking N70, 407, 990, 843 and recurrent expenditure having N64, 895, 109, 167.”
The statement said the governor assured of judicious implementation of the budget in accordance with the rebranding programme of his administration in clear departure from the culture of the past.
Mr. Abubakar thanked the legislature for the speedy passage of the bill; an action, he said, confirms the Assembly’s concern for the plight of the people and its determination to support the executive to improve the life of the common man.
“The appropriation bill, which is the first by the administration of Governor Mohammed Abubakar was presented to the Bauchi State House of Assembly early in the year and was just passed into law last week, few days before the National Assembly passed the 2016 appropriation sent to it by President Muhammadu Buhari,” the statement said.
