Attempted Attack On White House Ends after Chase, Shootout At Capitol

WASHINGTON — Congress and the White House were placed on a shelter-in-place order after shots were reportedly fired near Capitol Hill.
Officials said one Capitol police officer was shot, although not his injuries are said to not be serious, according to the Associated Press.
The shooting was apparently contained to the Capitol Visitor’s Center. A witness said she heard shot and hid behind a wall.

The shooter is reportedly in custody, but buildings in the Capitol complex are still under the shelter-in-place order.
The DC police said there is no active threat to the public.
