Ife who recently debut her first single titled Olorun Mi is officially signed with 805 Records. In an Interview with Naij.com, Ife speaks on how her journey into the music industry began, her challenges and fashion.
How did music start for you?
Music has always been part of me, it all began while I was young. I actually started active singing as a juvenile chorister in my father’s church and joined the children’s choir at age five, I was one of the youngest, and as time evolved I had no other choice than to join the adult choir at age 14. At 19-years, I became the music director of my church.
So when did you become a professional music artist?
Music became my profession in May 2014, but I officially started this year in January with my new management 805 Records.
What are you working on presently?
I am concluding work on the video of my new single titled Olorun Mi. The video was shot by talented music producer and CEO iFocus pictures, Oluyinka Davids and will also be dropping another audio soon, so watch out. Making reference to your musical background, did it serve as a
motivation or hindrance to you?
It actually serves as a motivation for me because the training and experiences I gathered through my break as a music artist charted the course. It boosted my self-confidence. While growing up, were you
influenced by any artiste or old record?
Yes, while growing up I listened to several artistes and quiet a lot of them influenced me. The likes of Bola Are, Funmi Aragbaye, Toun Soetan and a lot more like that influenced me greatly.
What were some of the challenges you encountered when you started your music career?
Before I came across 805 Records, it has been a serious war. Infact I almost gave up at a point but God encouraged me and I am forever grateful to God for it. There hasn’t been any challenge with my new management, the journey has been wonderful so far and I am enjoying every bit of it.
What inspired your Olorun Mi?
My management 805 Records inspired the song. They motivated me to bring it out to the masses and I am glad they did.
What are your professional plans?
Some of my plans include collaboration with international artistes on different platforms. I want to hold a live concert home and abroad. I am also working on releasing my first album before the end of the year 2016. You are presently signed to 805 records,
what should we be expecting next?
Like I stated earlier, we’ve shot the video of the song ‘Olorun Mi ft. K’ore’ and it will be officially released on the 1st of March 2016.
