ADAMAWA HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY COMMENCES IMPEACHMENT PROCEEDING AGAINST THE GOVERNOR.

As President Goodluck Jonathan continues to lash out in various directions against his political opponents, he today ordered the federal aviation authorities at the Yola International Airport to prevent the take-off of a private jet chartered to take Governor Murtala Nyako to Abuja.
The governor was billed to attend the inauguration of the newly-elected executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the nation’s capital.
Their flight plans stumped, the governor and his aides traveled by road to Gombe, 250 kilometres away, where they boarded another flight for Abuja.
As soon as Mr. Nyako left Yola, the Adamawa State House of Assembly voted to begin impeachment proceedings against Mr. Nyako and his deputy, Bala Ngilari, directing the Clerk of the House to serve impeachment notices on both men.
Mr. Nyako began having issues with President Jonathan after he sided with Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi in the tussle in the Nigeria Governors Forum. He later decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party to join the opposition APC.
