If Jay Z never helped Solange Knowles' music career, well now he just did but after receiving several kicks, punches and insults in an elevator fight at The Standard Hotel in New York on May 5.
According to HipHopDX, Solange Knowlessaw a significant increase in sales of her digital tracks recording a 2,000 mark the week the scandal broke, compared to 600 the week before.
The report suggests that the sales spike was caused by the now infamous CCTV footage of fight with sister Beyonce's husband Jay Z .
Solange's first album, Solo Star, failed to make an impact on the charts when it was released back in 2003. Her second album, Sol-AngelAnd The Hadley St. Dreams released in 2008, fared better. But the singer has still struggled to achieve the same success as her sisterBeyonce over the years.
