Two coal miners lost their lives Monday night after they became trapped inside a mine in Boone County, West Virginia, a U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration spokeswoman told CNN Tuesday.
A ground failure occurred at the Brody Mine No. 1, owned by Brody Mining, LLC, MSHA spokeswoman Amy Louviere said.
The two miners became trapped and did not survive, she said.The bodies have been recovered, and the agency will conduct an investigation into the incident, Louviere said.
